Your liver, kidneys, and bladder are important organs, but people often ignore them in the long run, and this can end up biting them in the back. You may be lucky to have 2 kidneys, but keeping them healthy can literally save your life. We have some simple tips that will keep your body healthy for years to come.
We have collected some of the most important tips to help keep your kidneys and bladder toxin-free! Don’t forget to check out our bonus, where we give you a surprise tip.
Best Way To Detox Your Liver, Kidneys, And Bladder
1. Reduce Salt And Soda
Many of these foods have become part of our daily diets, but you should actually eat them only in moderation. This includes coffee, soda, salt, and protein-rich foods.
Try doing a mini detox every few days and stop consuming these foods twice a week. As seen earlier, you can even find unsalted versions of your favorite salty foods.
2. Indulge In More Tea, Water, And Cranberries
That said, food is not your enemy, as there are plenty of foods you can add to your diet to help reduce toxins in your body. This includes drinks like green tea, ginger tea, and pure water.
Adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet, especially blueberries and brown algae, can also help in this regard. Remember fruits make for an easy breakfast, dessert, and even a snack! Try cutting the middle man and turning your favorite fruits, like blueberries, into tea!
3. Take Your Vitamins
There are many supporting herbs that also help maintain a healthy kidney, such as vitamin B-6, omega-3, and potassium citrate. All three herbs can help reduce the chance of developing kidney stones.
Many of them can also be added through easy to take multivitamins or multi-minerals.
4. Try A 2-day Kidney Cleanse!
Once you’ve already incorporated these healthy tips into your daily lifestyle, a good cleaning can really do wonders. Here’s a sample of a 2-day cleanse. Remember to consult your doctor or medical professional about changes in your diet to make sure that cleaning is right for you.
Breakfast: For your first meal of the day, try drinking a simple fruit juice like beetroot juice with dried cranberries or a smoothie, preferably one made with spinach.
Lunch: For lunch, you can try another smoothie. If you don’t want to eat the first two meals of the day, you can also eat hot corn cereal, adding your favorite fruit.
Dinner: For your last meal of the day, a good salad can help. Start with mixed vegetables as a base. You can add your favorite proteins, which can be lean meats or tofu, a nice lemon drizzle, or your favorite fruit, but be careful not to overdo it.
5. Try Kegel Exercises For Your Bladder
It may surprise you that there are ways to help your bladder, but there are. Dr. Arnold Kegel developed these pelvic exercises in 1948 to help women with stress urinary incontinence, especially after childbirth or menopause.
If done regularly, they can help prevent bladder leakage. It’s simple, just contract your pelvic floor muscles and relax them, hold each one as you count to 10. Do 30 of them, 10 standing, 10 while sitting, and 10 while reclining.
Do this 3 times a day, increasing 90 contractions per day. Make sure your bladder is empty before doing so. And since no one can see you do this, you can do these exercises while following your daily routine.
6. Exercise Your Liver
There are some exercises that can also help your liver. You can feel your liver pressing your ribs up and down on the right side. You can press, rub, or touch it 100 times a day to keep it healthy.
In addition, you can also try turning the trunk, where the trunk rotates from left to right about 15 times on each side, to help the liver. As seen above, daily stretches, performed approximately 5 hours a week, can do wonders for the liver.
Bonus: Here Are Some Smoothie Recipes!
We mentioned that shakes can help you take care of your kidney health, so here are some recipes that can get you started. Mix a cup of almond milk with half a cup of tofu and half a cup of spinach as a base.
Now add some fruits to the mix, like fruits, apples, or even pumpkin seeds. Another recipe consists of a cup of soy milk, a frozen banana, and a half cup of spinach as a base. Again, add your favorite fruit. Adding spirulina can also help!
