Foods to Avoid That Can Be Toxic for Your Skin

Sometimes the things we love can be harmful, And it is really unfortunate that the consequences do not let you go somewhere or, what’s worse, make you feel sick. To avoid these unpleasant feelings and provide a healthy appearance, Craft Side would like to show you some foods that you might consider eliminating or completely excluding from your food ration.

Alcohol

“Drinking alcohol is one of the worst things you can do for your skin,” says  Michaella Bolder, a skincare expert at Time Bomb. Unfortunately, once the positive feelings I had while drinking alcohol disappear, it will have many side effects. First, alcohol promotes the hormonal disruption that leads to acne. Second, it reduces the immune system by replacing very important bacteria in the intestine, the microbiome. Third, alcohol dehydrates your skin and makes you look and feel bloated.

If you do not want to suffer the negative effects of alcohol, try to set a spending limit, do not drink before leaving home and eat it.

Rice cakes

You will probably be surprised to discover that this supposedly “healthy” food is really harmful. Rice cakes can cause wrinkles on the skin and can even influence brain function. First, it is easy to overcome, which can result in weight gain. Second, if you check the nutritional label on the back, you will find that rice cakes do not contain much, and even if you find a healthy ingredient, there will only be a small amount. Third, rice cakes can cause imperfections and acne, damaging molecules called advanced glycation end products, also known as AGEs.

But if you really like rice cakes, choose the ones that contain flaxseeds and add sprouts, turkeys, tomatoes or any other favorite vegetable to get healthy unsaturated fats, calcium, and iron.

Sushi

Did you know that this delicacy leads to premature aging and causes acne? If not, now you do. Yes, unfortunately, it’s true. First, your favorite rolls contain a large amount of salt, one of the worst enemies of our health, and this can lead to dehydrated and dull skin. Second, salty foods cause cells to retain fluids, which causes your face to swell. Third, rice has a high glycemic index and can eliminate moisture and circulation to the epidermis, causing dry skin and premature aging. Julianne Moore was the first to call this phenomenon “sushi face.”

If you eat sushi, it is recommended to drink more water, do facial exercises, sleep on a slope to avoid allowing the liquid to accumulate on the face, use a cold compress and avoid alcohol to prevent swelling.

Dairy products

If you eat dairy products and still have problems with acne, this information may be useful. First, cow’s milk contains a growth hormone that exacerbates the sebaceous glands in your skin and makes your skin look oily. As a result, it becomes more prone to leaks. Secondly, there is a lot of low-quality milk, because the cows are being fed with GM mold and soybeans. During milk processing, milk is damaged due to ultra pasteurization, evaporation, skimming, etc. All this creates the perfect conditions for acne. Third, 75% of the world population is lactose intolerant, and this intolerance can cause acne and eczema.

You can choose to switch to alternatives such as goat’s milk or buy raw milk at a local farm where you can be sure that cows feed on grass. In addition, 2% milk is a better option if it is considered to have a lower glycemic index.

Breakfast cereals

Sad but true. Even these seemingly innocent cereals can be harmful to the skin. First, don’t believe the word “natural” until you see what the cereal is. You may discover that some of the ingredients are in fact GMO ingredients, which can cause itchy skin, increase allergies and cause acne. Secondly, due to the process called extrusion, breakfast cereals are really toxic to our body. Third, popular cereals also often contain synthetic vitamins that our bodies cannot physically use.

If you cannot avoid eating a bowl of breakfast cereal, choose one that contains less than 5 grams of sugar per serving. Pay attention to your portion and use the portion control information in the package as a guide. Read the consistency because the product usually contains more than the first 2-3 ingredients listed.

Processed meat

One of the reasons you can see swollen skin, especially after visiting a cafeteria or restaurant, maybe due to the consumption of processed meats. First, there is a lot of sodium in processed meats such as ham, bacon, cured meats such as chicken brine and the amount of salt that swells you, so you feel bloated or swollen. Second, these types of meat also contain nitrates, which destroy the collagen and elastin in the skin. Third, processed meats can cause premature aging due to broken elements that can no longer be used to support young skin.

For processed meats to be less harmful to your body, do not overeat and do not eat them every day. If you are on a diet, base it on fresh foods.

Juices

Who doesn’t love juice? Especially when it is considered much healthier than soda. First, juices contain as much sugar as soda, and that sugar breaks down the skin’s collagen and makes it rough. Secondly, juices have no fiber and this means that what you are drinking does not provide the skin with the necessary nutrients. Third, lovers of lemon juice masks are prone to a potential chemical burn. If you go out in the sun, lemon juice can permanently damage your skin.

You can mix fruits and vegetables in smoothies to make sure your body gets all the good vitamins and minerals. But it would be better to eat whole fruits to get antioxidants and vitamins that are found naturally in fruits.
